Message from the President

Our Rotary International President for 2021-22 Shekhar Mehta's theme is "Service to Change Lives." As we emerge from this challenging time in the world, we have a unique opportunity to move forward and meet the increasing needs in our community and beyond. As Rotarians, we can all be proud of how we met the challenges this past year by continuing our meetings via online and more recently in person. What we do as Rotarians opens an opportunity for someone as we serve to change lives.

My goal as President this year will be to continue to assist our charities and community as they recover from 2020. The needs in our community are greater than in past years with many wondering where their next paycheck will come from, whether or not they will have food this week and for those students choosing F2F or virtual schools (internet obstacles) and more. We must identify and meet these needs of our community. Working with our many local charities throughout this upcoming year, we as Rotarians will succeed. I want to continue the many great programs we have participated in over the years, including Paint USA, FFA Projects/Barn Sale, Blood Drives, Rise Against Hunger and scholarship opportunities to name a few.

I am super excited that we are able to host our awesome fundraisers. Without the patrons attending and the amazing volunteers we would not be able to give back to our local Katy charities. Keep an eye out for these upcoming events and support the Rotary Club of Katy who supports our area.

I would like to thank the wonderful members of the Rotary Club of Katy for their participation during the past year. You have been instrumental in "meeting the moment" through your dedicated service and successful fund raising efforts. Whether you're an active Rotarian, a prospective speaker, or just an interested individual, I hope to see you soon.
