As the Brewfest continues to grow, our club needs to continue to "step up our game" to honor our sponsors and make them feel special There was an internal team that viewed three hotels, Hotel Za Za Herman Park was by far the best both in price and sophistication. This will be an unforgettable "weekend" for our club and our sponsors. The vision would be a great party Friday night, and activities for those who wish to stay on Saturday while departing on Sunday. Some events would include beer tours, museum tours, and perhaps zoo tours for those who remain on Saturday then a great evening Saturday night somewhere around the Hotel.
At this time, we have to limit this event to 30 Rotarians and your one guest. This night will sell out, with the view from the room, the music from our own Deacon of Funk, the food, and the overall ambiance, it will be an unforgettable night.
Should you wish to go, please notifiy Scotty ASAP, Julie will bill you seperatley. You will want to be there!

Our first Rotary After Dark will be held Thursday, July 26th, at Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant. You are welcome to bring your spouse, family or friend. The purpose of this is to allow us to enjoy each other's company. During our weekly meetings, we are usually in and out within the hour and don't have time to socialize. My hope is we all take the opportunity to get to know each other even better over the next year, and beyond. Each individual will be responsible for their own food and drinks. Chris Garcia |

Rotary 101 is not only an introduction to Rotary, but also a re-introduction. For more than 110 years, Rotary members have been addressing challenges around the world. Please join our gracious host, Rhonda Walls-Kerby as she gives us a brief history of Rotary and how we can use it to impact our own community and beyond. You'll also learn the backgrond of our own club. I encourage new members, as well as seasoned members to attend this informative session. I know it will help you better understand our "why". |

After such a succesful first Rotary After Dark I am looking forward to our next social. Alamo Draft House will be hosting us in their new theatre in LaCenterra. We will start in their bar where Alamo is graciously providing appetizers for us. The club will provide your first 2 drinks, in the bar area only. After an hour in the bar, we will be moving to a 50 seat theatre to watch a classic film, Three Amigos. There will be a full food and beverage menu available in the theatre, but each person will be responsible for their own tab. Not sure what Three Amigos is, read up here, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092086/. Again, the theatre we will be in is limited to 50 people only. If you don't want to watch the movie, you are welcome to hang out in the bar area. |

Ronald McDonald House of Greater Houston
Sep. 13, 2018
What began as one family’s misfortune became good fortune for millions of families worldwide. In 1974, Kim Hill, the 3-year old daughter of Philadelphia Eagles tight end Fred Hill, was diagnosed with leukemia. During Kim’s three years of treatment, Fred and his wife Fran often camped out on hospital chairs and benches and ate makeshift meals out of vending machines. The Hills watched other parents around them doing the same thing. They learned that many of the families traveled great distances to bring their children to the hospital, but couldn’t afford hotel rooms. |
